My first name is not actually Shelley (or anything like Shelley) – my parents called me Shelley from birth – twisted people my parents.
2. I despise gravy.
3. I used to show livestock when I was in middle school/high school – I owned lambs, but would show steers and pigs to help my friend’s farm during shows.
4. I HATE spiders!
5. I am an only child.
6. I am an only grandchild on one side of my family.
7. I am one of five grandchildren on the other side – 3 boys & 2 girls.
8. I used to play violin – was actually pretty good.
9. I used to play the flute – I don’t think I was very good at this.
10. I’m a sucker for blue-eyed men – just ask my husband.
11. I am definitely NOT afraid of public speaking.
12. I remember every detail of the girls’ birth.
13. Me, my OB/GYN and her head nurse were all pregnant at the same time and all due in the same month.
14. I’m a bit of a computer nerd.
15. My first car was a Ford Mustang (used) and a stick shift.
16. I currently drive a Mazda MPV mini-van (I’m such the soccer mom!).
17. The car dealer told me it was the “mini-van that drives like a sports car” – I literally laughed in his face.
18. My Dad taught me how to drive a stick – said everyone should know how just in case you are ever put in a situation where you have to drive one – I absolutely agree.
19. I may – or may not – have a tattoo….hmmmm……curious?
20. I’m so tight with money I squeak – luckily, so does my hubby.
21. I had shoulder surgery not too long after college – injured rotator cuff.
22. The injury was caused by pushing myself too hard in gymnastics in high school. What was I thinking?
23. My favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird.
24. My favorite movie is White Christmas.
25. I once saw George Clooney in my hometown (he’s from there too). I did manage to utter the word, “Hello”, but then I blacked out (kidding – I think).
26. I’m a novice scrapbooker.
27. I had over 18 majors in college – the joke was, “Shelley, what’s your major this week?”
28. I regret not going into nursing in college.
29. We didn’t know we were going to have twins until I was 5 months into the pregnancy – SURPRISE!
30. I’m a closet Washington Redskins fan – no idea why.
31. I’m obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer (helped me make it through the many sleepless nights of the last part of my pregnancy) and Gilmore Girls (more recent obsession).
32. I bleed blue – Go UK!
33. My job aptitude test I took in high school said my perfect job would be a funeral director – lovely.
34. I had to give up caffeine about 6 years ago because of kidney issues. I miss it TERRIBLY!!!
35. I used to drink three Diet Mtn. Dews a day – see #35. Caffeine Free Diet Mtn. Dew just isn’t the same.
36. I had my ears pierced for the first time at a doctor’s office – I think I was around 12 or 13.
37. I did the other three ear piercings myself – not fun or smart. I don’t have those three holes anymore.
38. I was a cheerleader for football and basketball in high school.
39. My dad was the varsity football coach at my high school.
40. My dad was not a fan of cheerleaders – ha! Don’t you love the irony.
41. I was the newspaper and yearbook editor in high school.
42. Chris was actually playing basketball for an opposing team while I was cheering for our team in high school. We didn’t even know each other and wouldn’t meet for about ten more years.
43. My friends and I used to “cruise” Kmart parking lot for fun – hey, that was quite the thing to do at that time.
44. I still can’t believe I’m a “grown up”.
45. I’m not a fan of cats – quite allergic.
46. My first pets were hermit crabs.
47. We don’t have any pets in our house now.
48. I’m debating whether to get a fish – I’m not aiming too high.
49. I took Latin as my foreign language in high school – what was I thinking?
50. I ended up in Tennessee as that’s where my now hubby lived (even though he was from across the river – Ohio – from my hometown in Kentucky).
51. I was in Lexington before the move and we had dated only 5 months (long distance) before I moved down.
52. I looked for jobs in Tennessee and he looked for jobs in Lexington – or at least he said he did…hmmm…
53. I got the first good job offer and the rest is history.
54. Our first (tiny) apartment was less than a mile away from ½ million dollar homes – I used to run in those neighborhoods and always thought the owners would call the cops on me for “casing the joint”.
55. I got called to the principal’s office in high school because he heard the cheerleaders were taking Vivarin (caffeine pill). My how times have changed.
56. I have seen The Lion King movie at least 200 times – not by choice.
57. I can still type over 70 words a minute.
58. I’m the Treasurer of the Parents of Twins and Triplets Organization.
59. I was in a sorority in college – Alpha Omicron Pi. Ironic – Their headquarters is in Brentwood, TN – less than 30 miles from my house.
60. I went to Eastern Kentucky University.
61. I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations.
62. My minor was Psychology.
63. I’m a “Daddy’s Girl”, but my Mom is one of my best friends.
64. Anna’s name was chosen a few months before the girls were born.
65. Ashlyn’s name was chosen a few days before the girls were born.
66. I like being a stay-at-home-mom, but I constantly CRAVE adult interaction (probably why I love blogging so much).
67. I love all kinds of music: pop, classic rock, country, some rap, some adult contemporary, all 80’s music – my MP3 player is full of all kinds of stuff.
68. I’m trying to grow my hair out – it is driving me NUTS!
69. My birthstone is the topaz – by far the ugliest of all the precious stones – it is dirty orange.
70. I don’t wear much jewelry – never have. Typically just my wedding ring and my stud earrings.
71. I used to be convinced that I was adopted – no idea why I thought that!
72. One of my best friends died during my college years and I still miss her terribly.
73. Chocolate chip cookie dough is my downfall.
74. I hope to complete a half marathon within the next couple of years (maybe this year).
75. I was allergic to chocolate as a child (such a tragic childhood).
76. I wasn’t a big fan of pizza til college.
77. I attended traffic school while living in Lexington, Kentucky. Darn speeding tickets!
78. I used to teach country line dancing (don’t laugh – it was big then).
79. I used to teach aerobics (I was in MUCH better shape then).
80. I love to dance!
81. I share my birthday with Mickey Mouse.
82. I’m trying to convince my brother-in-law to be the next Bachelor. Frankly, I want him to do it so I can be the “spy” bachelorette for him.
83. I used to love all the original Star Wars movies – I blame my cousin because he would make me and his sister watch the movies and play with all his Star Wars figures when we were together as kids.
84. The same cousin’s sister is one of my best friends – love you Teresa!
85. I had a pitchfork go through my foot a couple years ago – had to get four stitches.
86. I don’t particularly love to shop, but I always seem to find really good deals.
87. I loved being pregnant – except for the last month when I was just WAY too big to even move. (75 pounds is not good on a 5’2” woman)
88. I love to be organized, but am not as organized as I would like to me. If there was a Container Store near us we would be in serious debt.
89. I love the snow and miss it terribly – not much snow in Tennessee.
90. I took Flower Arranging in college (senior year/last semester – needed a one credit “gimmee” class). I received perfect “10”s on all of my arrangements.
91. I was a lifeguard in high school and part of college.
92. I only had to go in and “save” someone once.
93. My favorite flower is the tulip.
94. I love Italian food.
95. I love all things Harry Potter.
96. I actually love to cook, but don’t take the time to do much of it the way I would like to.
97. I can say and sing the ABC’s backwards – just ask me.
98. I miss my hometown and occasionally think about what it would be like to move back there. Funny – I couldn’t wait to get out of there when I was in high school.
99. I love the Girl Scouts’ Thin Mint cookies. Each year I buy one box, put it in the freezer and eat one entire sleeve of the cookies for breakfast the next morning. Sick, but OH SO GOOD!
100. No matter where I go I always look around totally expecting to see someone I know (New York City, London, Cancun, St. Thomas - any city).
